Man and machine

I’ve posted the picture “Powerhouse Mechanic” by Lewis Hines because I think it illustrates, the strange, symbiotic relationship between man and machine. Hines’ image illustrates in poetic simplicity that man is both master and servant to the machine. He’s dominated by the enormous steam pump, using all his strength to tighten the massive bolts. Yet, [...]

Dain Bramage

I must be suffering some sort of brain damage or early onset of “senior moments.” I forgot my friend, fellow photographer and sometimes the person on the other side of the debate, Wesley Channell. See his work at wesleychannellphotography.com

“There’s an old Vulcan proverb, only Nixon could go to China.” – Spock
Politically speaking, that phrase has an entirely different meaning than the one I’m about to ascribe: given a long view of history, everything works out the way it is supposed to.

Arthur’s [...]

If one examines the conceptualist paradigm of reality, one is faced with a choice: either accept the material [...]

The second is to my good friend Michael Dingler’s blog. We’ve collaborated – with varying degrees of success – on a few poems over there. Check out Huckleberry Nowhere.
The third is to another friend’s site, Atlanta artist [...]

Work, work work

Hello everyone.
Been very busy these past few weeks. Getting the website up and running. Getting everything ready for the show at the Old Bank Gallery in downtown Thomasville and working on the chamber’s website.
I’ll be sure to report when we get the show scheduled. Stay tuned.
